Rabat Stroll
I made it and dove right in; no nap, no warmup, no jet lag! I’ve been met my local coordinator, some of my host family, my roommate (also a volunteer), and another volunteer! In the past 12hours I got in 15,000+ steps 💪🏾, learned a few Darija (Moroccan Arabic) words, and stayed up for hours talking about “life” like a college student!
To stroll is to “walk about in a leisurely manner,” something I don’t do much. I’m usually power walking for exercise, to beat the meter, to cross the road, to get to my destination. And let’s be real, in Atlanta point A to B usually means a trip by car via GPS! Without an ETA you can afford to stroll and that I did, taking in the people, sights, and the beauty of creation.
Today, on the other hand, I’m on a schedule! Orientation at 9:30 and off to the preschool where I’ll volunteer then go off to language classes. Looking forward to what the day may bring!
