Teşekkürler! — layover in Turkey!

This Tesekkürler (“teh-sheh curler” is what it sounded like) means thank you in Turkish! Just learned that when I asked at the airport after ordering my iced latte at you guessed it, Starbucks! With oat milk it ended up being 197 lira… on par with US prices. But a bit more expensive maybe. 143 lira (price w/o) oat milk is $5.06 USD.

Before my coffee break, I had a “bio break”. Been a while since I’ve used one of these but I always was an advocate of Squatty Potty, the closest thing to this we’ll likely get stateside. It’s definitely ergonomically better for you and the shower spout is also super convenient, IMO.

Just got out of line and  sitting in the plane as I type! Headed to Dhaka, now. Already had a friendly conversation with a lady traveling with her baby and I think this next 7 hours will fly by! Took this first shot quickly as I waited in the queue to board. Looks like abstract art. The flight is packed, but I think we boarded pretty efficiently! Strangers have been helping each other with their stuff, which I don’t always see. A cricket match is playing on the screen in front of me. Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan!

Side note: You must think I’m obsessed with toilets. I’m kinda starved for content right now stuck traveling for 21 hours, so tomorrow I’ll do better. Promise ❤️
