Manual Labor + Intensamente 2

Today was super chill, even after returning to the job site and seeing a new mound of dirt on top of the one we’d almost leveled off the day before!?!  Well hey it’s work and we came to work 💪🏾. We moved more efficiently today and sent several full wheelbarrows back (in record time) to surround the well and to cover newly laid pipe. 

We also moved at least 40 cinder blocks from the back of the building out to the main road by forming an assembly line and using the wheelbarrow where possible to expedite the process. We finished around 11:30 just before the rains began again. 

We had lunch today at an Italian restaurant. I had squid ink homemade spaghetti and a green salad with mushrooms and olives that I really needed! This was the first formal sit down restaurant we went to and it was perfect for a rainy day. 

After that we went to a movie at a theater called Cinépolis Desamparados. We saw “Inside Out 2” called “Intensamente 2” in Spanish. The idea was to see a movie in Spanish where the language and ideas wouldn’t be too complicated for us to understand. It was a cute movie but I’ll definitely have to watch again in English to really connect all the dots. Pixar did a great job with the animation, Spanish voiceover and text replacement throughout the film! 

So even though today was more chill from a physical standpoint. We had a great time. We couldn’t take a hike as planned but  made the most of it! It’s now 9:30 PM and it’s been raining for hours — since 1:00PM. Perfect time to sleep while hearing the rain fall while under the covers! 💤
